About EISA From Small Beginnings to a Global Phenomenon 51 Member Publications 26 Countries Represented 44 Years of Excellence Expert Groups ’82 Editors-in-chief of five European photo magazines meet together to select and award the best camera of the year. It was not realized until later that this was a seminal event out of which the very idea of EISA and the Association itself emerged some years later. ’85 ’89 ’92 Beside the then-only Photography panel, Video and Audio panels are established to cover other categories of consumer electronics with the same expert evaluation and awards. ’02 Several EISA member magazines covering mobile electronics establish the In-Car Electronics Panel, together with a number of magazines from then extinguished ECAP Association. ’05 EISA introduces the Green Awards to support and reward sustainability and environmental efforts made by manufacturers. The Green Awards are managed in collaboration with the University of Science & Technology in Trondheim, the United Nations University in Bonn, Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology in Delft and Sims Recycling Solutions in Eindhoven. ’07 The Convergence Panel becomes the Mobile Devices Panel to ensure better expert coverage of the broadening landscapes of audio, video and mobile products. ’10 ’13 EISA goes through internal reorganization so that it can better respond to the emerging product categories, demands of readership base and market changes.
